Hi there. The Best Fudgy Brownies and I are here today. I am very excited to bring you these ultimate chocolaty brownies for one reason and one reason only: These are by far the best brownies I’ve brought to Veggie Balance in a long time.

Don’t get me wrong, Black Bean Brownies have a proper time and place. However, when you are craving that deep, dark and fudgy brownie goodness with perhaps a massive scoop of honey ice cream on it, there is no denying that craving.

You’ll be glad you didn’t deny that craving, believeeee me. It is happiness and all chocolate heaven in your mouth.

Say hello to your new best brownie friends. These gluten-free fudgy brownies will not disappoint.

R is generally the resident brownie-monster and demolishes any brownies baked on site. However, I confess, I turned into a brownie-monster with these.

Two batches made, two batches consumed. All by me. // #oops #sorrynotsorry #likereallynotsorry

My effort to work out at least once a day has its downfalls. For one, I crave chocolate more. But isn’t that the whole reason we work out? So we can eat more food? . . . Wait, is that just me?

I mean, exercise is good for my heart, muscles, and overall brain and body health (blah, blah), but I burned calories so I get to eat brownies, right?

As I write this, I am down in Ohio for the weekend, sitting in a coffee shop drinking a green tea. It’s a girl’s weekend at Cedar Point where we ran a 5k through the amusement park and then got to ride lots of wicked roller coasters. Oh, and there is a medal involved. I only enter races when there is some awesome swag.

Super fun.

There was, however, a point where I got super hangry and overheated.

I’m pretty sure these brownies would’ve fixed both of those problems.

Brownies have super-powers, right?

Back at home, R is working on putting my office back together while I’m away. You can see the studio wide open spaces and all the room for super fun activities to come on our first Facebook Live Video! You can also see it on Snapchat! (username: veggiebalance)

Every time I walk down into that spacious studio, I can’t help but quote Step Brothers.

(There may even have been a re-enactment of this entire scene at one point.)

There won’t be karate, aerobics, or calisthenics (or maybe there will be). Regardless, there will be a super awesome Veggie Balance studio to make and take more awesome fudgy brownies pictures.

On a side note: You guys are so amazing, hearing your kind and sweet words lately makes it that much more enjoyable to do what I do. Thank you so much everyone.

Meryl, Yes Cane Sugar is white sugar. Both the type of Chocolate and the type of Cane Sugar are linked into the recipe to the ones I use. Happy Baking! 🙂

Bahah I tripled checked (maybe even more) the spelling of ‘fudgy’ and my post editor did the same thing! 😉

I can just tell by your pics that these brownies are so fudgy and moist! Just how I like my brownies. And that cream cheese swirl on top is perfection!

Hey Megan! Yes you most definitely can. 🙂

I’ve made it both ways. I always test my recipes with the butter/dairy and dairy-free alternatives.

These look so good! If I just wanted a regular brownie though with no actual chocolate chip pieces in it or cream cheese swirl (gasp, i know) could I just omit the chocolate chips you fold in and skip the cream cheese swirl?? would i need to add any extra sweetness then or?? Thanks so much! 🙂

You MOST definitely can skip the cream cheese swirl, I make it that way quite often actually. You can make it without the chocolate chip but it’ll change the fudgy texture and taste. I suspect you’ll want to add a little extra flour to replace it as well (apprx 1/4-1/3 cup). Hope this helps!

Maybe I’ll get working on getting a brownie version with chocolate chips for if anyone else is interested. 🙂

Ok great! Sorry I’m a little confused about the second part though, skipping the additional 1/2 cup chocolate chips that you fold in would make them not fudgy? I would still use the 1 cup of chocolate chips that you melt… Clarification would be great thank you! 🙂

The reason I was asking is because I prefer if there are no bits in the brownie, and I was wondering if it would need more sugar or something since the chips in it would add to the sweetness.

Oh I’m sorry! I guess I was confused also what you were asking. I thought you were asking to omit them completely!

Skipping the additional 1/2 cup of solid chocolate chips folded into the brownie is perfectly OK. If you would like to replace the sugar content, then I’d add about 1/4 cup of sugar to them, but really, I think they would be sweet enough omitting the 1/2 cup of folded in chocolate chips.

            Hope this helps! 🙂

The taste was good but there is a missing step in the instructions as to when to add the melted chocolate and butter portion. They also came out very flat and broke apart. Not moist at all like the picture.
